Scott Olmos-US PRESSWIRE

It appears that Lorenz Larkin will still be getting his Strikeforce middleweight title shot. The bout will likely be a part of what Scott Coker has called a "stacked card" in January after two recent event cancellations. MMA Junkie has the news:

Rockhold (10-1 MMA, 9-0 SF), the Strikeforce middleweight champion, and Larkin (13-0 MMA, 4-0 SF) are being targeted for an as yet unannounced Strikeforce card on Jan. 12. Sources close to the promotion on Wednesday told MMA Junkie that the fight booking is in the process of being finalized.

The bout was originally scheduled for an event that would have taken place last weekend in Oklahoma City, but the card was cancelled when Frank Mir (Daniel Cormier's opponent) went down with an injury. Larkin won his middleweight debut over Robbie Lawler back in July. Rockhold defended his title for the second time by defeating Tim Kennedy in the main event of that same July card.

It was expected that Ronaldo Souza would be getting the title shot, but that didn't come to fruition.
