The Ultimate Fighter season 16 is starting to wind down. The show has struggled all season to put up anything resembling respectable ratings. It's highest episodes have barely hit acceptable levels and the lowest have set new records for the bottom line viewership. Seemingly in response to that, the UFC has chosen not to include TUF 16 contestants in the season finale event, aside from the tournament finalists of course.
It looks like, logically, speaking generically, with the closing of Strikeforce there'll be a pretty big influx of fighters. And I think they're being very not so generous their UFC fights any more.
I was surprised and disappointed…, guys give up 7 weeks of their life so the UFC can make millions of dollars and they fight for free and you don’t give them a shot at the end, I think that’s pretty cold to me.
The matchmaking decision is really hitting home for Marunde right now, as last week's episode showed him losing his quarter final bout against Neil Magny via decision. What Bristol ignores is that The Ultimate Fighter gave him and his fellow competitors a larger platform and more exposure than any of them had seen before.
What does Bloody Elbow think on this one? Does the UFC have an obligation to put these fighters in the finale?
