The Ultimate Fighter plugs on, with mayhem in the house, the coaches' challenge, Dana White telling the fighters to step it up, and a fight that may or may not be good. Join us here at Bloody Elbow during the show to discuss all the fun.
Another Friday, another night of UFC's The Ultimate Fighter: Team Carwin vs. Team Nelson. The show airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET on FX, and if you're watching (crickets? anyone?) join us here for live discussion.
Tonight we get fight #7 in the quarter-finals. Representing Roy Nelson's team will be either his #1 pick Dom Waters, or wrestler Jon Manley. Remaining fighters on the Shane Carwin side are his #3 pick Mike Ricci (who has so far emerged as the lone bright spot of the season) and James Cheney. At this point, I'm pulling for a Waters vs. Ricci final, so let's hope they're not paired up tonight.
Also on tap for this evening - Julian Lane goes berserk and destroys the house. Plus, Dana White finally admits how bad these fights have been, telling the fighters that they might not get a spot on the TUF Finale December 15. With the new (and awesome) announcement of Melvin Guillard vs. Jamie Varner being added to the card, we are up to 11 non-TUF fights already scheduled. The finals make 12, and that's likely to be it, so apparently this is no idle threat from Dana. Oh, and the coaches' challenge too.
I am starting to enjoy watching how Dana responds to this season's implosion due to poor judging and terrible fights, so, oddly enough, I am kind of excited for tonight's show. Hope you'll join me here.
