Tonight's UFC 154 event delivered overall, and four men took home some hefty bonus checks for their performance in the cage. The main event bout between Georges St. Pierre and Carlos Condit won fight of the night, Johny Hendricks picked up knockout of the night for his 46-second finish of Martin Kampmann, and Ivan Menjivar won submission of the night for his beautiful armbar win over Azamat Gashimov.
Each of the bonuses totaled $70,000 dollars.
The total attendance was 17,149 and the gate was 3.143 million dollars. Evidently, the talk about the event being close to a sellout wasn't true, since the Bell Center holds over 21,000. Dana White was asked about the lower-than-expected attendance at the post-fight press conference, and said "I'm always happy with a 3.2 million dollar gate."
Still though, considering GSP was fighting in his hometown, the numbers did end up being a little lower than they could have been (and I was wrong about thinking it would sell out or do a better gate).
St. Pierre unified the welterweight title with a unanimous decision over Condit in the main event.
