Johny Hendricks had to go out and earn his number one contenders spot once again. And he did it with his insanely powerful left hand. Martin Kampmann tried to throw some kicks, but Hendricks put the left hand on Kampmann's chin and turned his lights out quickly in their UFC 154 welterweight bout. The finish came at just 46 seconds of the first round.
Hendricks charged in right away, throwing lefts. He wasn't able to connect though. And then just like that, he caught him with the massive left and sprawled Kampmann out on the mat just like he did to Jon Fitch. He set it up with a right and the left caught Kampmann straight on the chin. He landed one more big shot on the ground before the referee jumped on him.
Hendricks picked up his fifth straight win with the knockout and is the undisputed number one contender in the welterweight division. He might not get his desired title shot right away though if Georges St. Pierre beats Carlos Condit in the main event, because GSP would likely go on to face Anderson Silva instead.
