Ron Chenoy-US PRESSWIRE
A few days ago I passed along the UFC 154 main card betting lines, but the full card came out today and the prelims are stacked full of juicy bets. As I said before, I didn't really see much of note on the main card and was sort of down on the event from a betting perspective. But it seems that the linemakers done lost their minds when doing up the underneath fights. So, let's take a look at where you can potentially make some coin.
Let's start off with Darren Elkins. It's true that I've bet against Steven Siler every time so far and lost every time, but Elkins is an excellent grinder and I think he's going to take a decision. Getting him anywhere under -175 or so seems like a good price to me, and -125 is an absolute steal. Also in the absolute steal category is Cyrille Diabate at around even. Seriously, what the heck is Chad Griggs going to to do to a striker as seasoned as Diabate? That's a ridiculously good price, and you should be all over that.
Even past that, there are three underdogs that seem decent as well. John Makdessi at +240 seems to have value against Sam Stout, considering how uneven Stout has been lately. In addition to that, and I hate doing this, Azamat Gashimov at +280 (he opened at +300) is a good bet against Ivan Menjivar. Gashimov is a complete unknown, and Menjivar hasn't been stellar of late (even though he's awesome). Rodrigo Damm at +160 and even Matt Riddle at -150 aren't bad bets either.
Recommended plays:
1 unit on Elkins at -125
2 units on Diabate at -105
.25 unit on Makdessi at +240
.5 unit on Damm at +160
Last event - UFC on Fuel 6: 3-0, +2.29 units. Thanks Fireball Kid!
Total (5 events): 12-6, +5.9 units
Here's the full card (via BestFightOdds). Just a note - since these lines are real-time, they might look different when the stuff above was written.
