In light of Halloween being yesterday I decided to make my contest entry about the highly entertaining Korean Zombie. First I shall talk about his rise, and why I adore him. Korean Zombie only has 5 fights and is 3-2 under the Zuffa banner yet is being considered for a title shot. For good reason though, as he is on a very impressive 3 fight win streak and is undefeated in his UFC career.

Of his 5 fights under Zuffa he has won Fight of the Night, and Fight of the year in 2010. Knockout of the Night, Submission of the Night, and Submission of the Year in 2011. His only fight in 2012 got him Fight of the Night as well as Submission of the Night and is not only up for Fight of the Year, but Submission of the Year as well(Even though he probably won't win, it is nice just to be nominated).

If you told me in 2010 after his first bout with Garcia that Korean Zombie would be a title contender one day I would have laughed maniacally in your face. The guy who throws caution to the wind and swings like a roided up baseball player? Even though I feel he won that fight(as most do) his style is or at least WAS not that of a title contender.

His most impressive bout to date in my opinion has to be his fight with Poirier. A rather large underdog Poirier was -320 and Korean Zombie was +260. Hell, even I'll admit that when I found that out I started to doubt KZ. Despite his odds he prevailed not only delivering a highly entertaining fight but submitting Poirier in the 4th with an awesome d'arce choke. It is safe to say after being what some would say "robbed" in the Garcia fight KZ refuses to go to the judges as he has not seen a scorecard since April 24th 2010.

Now comes the sad part...The fall. I'm as big a fan of KZ as anybody but...do we honestly think he has a chance against Aldo? or even Edgar? Must we forget that Korean Zombie has been knocked out? via George Roop, a guy who has only 2 other KO wins. One against a man who is currently 6-21, and the other against a man whose nickname is 'The Fluke'.

I know MMA math doesn't work, but KZ was knocked out by Roop whose been Knocked out by 2 of Aldo's former opponents. Swanson, whom Aldo finished in 8 seconds, and Hominick, who went the distance with Aldo but whose forehead was impregnated in the process.

In closing, I love KZ, but when it comes to him fighting Aldo... I fear for his life... Korean Zombie's biggest downfall seems to be an accurate, shot picking opponent and that is the definition of Aldo and even Edgar. So please leave a comment below telling me why I'm an idiot and why I'm wrong. Also if you enjoyed reading or calling me an idiot make sure I win this competition! My only other MMA DVD is Aldo vs Faber and I bought it because of Korean Zombie vs Leonard Garcia. I'd love to see KZ vs Poirier again. :)
