Bruce Kluckhohn-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Contrary to Greg Jackson's Friday night tweet, UFC heavyweight Travis Browne did not suffer a knee injury, but a torn hamstring. He's still out for the rest of 2012 and possibly a little longer.

Following Travis Browne's KO defeat to Antonio Silva, trainer Greg Jackson tweeted that Browne had blown out his knee on the first high kick of the fight. Well ... not quite. Browne went to the doctor today and he went to Twitter to clarify his injury. It's not a blown knee thankfully, but it's still a serious injury.

Well that's a little different, don't you think? Browne is still out for the rest of the year but it's not the worst possible outcome of tearing a knee ligament and there's no need for surgery. Hopefully he recovers well and is back in the Octagon as he looks to rebound from his first career loss.
