The best action in WMMA hit last night with Invicta FC 3. Atomweight Jessica Penne won the promotion's first title with a triangle choke. Former WWE star Dave Bautista also had a successful debut with a 1st round TKO. BE's Zombie Prophet provides the gifs
While UFC On FX 5 was the biggest show of the weekend, there was plenty of other MMA to be found. Invicta FC came back with their third event featuring the best in Women's MMA. In the company's first ever title fight, Jessica Penne won the Atomweight belt with a second round triangle choke to take out Naho Sugiyama. Bantomweight Kaitlin Young settled previously unfinished business with Leslie Smith. The two ladies had fought to a decision at InvictaFC 1, but this time Young put an exclamation point on her win with a TKO victory.
Former WWE star Dave Bautista made his MMA debut this weekend. The Rhode Island promotion CES MMA booked the former professional wrestler as the headlining bout for CES MMA: Real Pain. Bautista had a successful debut and picked up a TKO over 40+ fight veteran Vincent Lucero. Some have decried Bautista's performance, but I think the hate is incredibly misguided. Bautista came in with no martial arts background at 43 years old and won his first fight. That's an impressive feat for a man well past his athletic prime and shouldn't be invalidated because he made his name off professional wrestling.
Zombie Prophet brings the gifs from both events.
