With Kyle Noke injured, Mike Pierce has stepped up on short notice to take on Seth Baczynski on the preliminary card of UFC on FX 6.

UFC officials have been searching for a replacement for Australia's Kyle Noke, who was unable to compete against Seth Baczynski after suffering an injury in training. Well they've found a replacement and today announced it would be the always tough veteran Mike Pierce. Via MMA Junkie:

After losing original opponent Kyle Noke (20-6-1 MMA, 4-2 UFC) due to an injury, Seth Baczynski (17-6 MMA, 4-1 UFC) has a new opponent for December: Mike Pierce (15-5 MMA, 7-3 UFC).

UFC officials today announced the new welterweight bout.

Pierce is arguably one of the toughest opponents for any fighter in the UFC today. His last fight was a come-from-behind KO of Aaron Simpson at UFC on FX 5. His only losses in the UFC are against Jon Fitch, Josh Koscheck, and Johny Hendricks, with the latter two via split decision. You could argue that this is a better fight than Noke/Baczynski just on Pierce's success at 170 lbs and in general.

UFC on FX 6 takes place on December 14th in the US, December 15th in Australia, and the preliminary card airs live on FUEL TV.
