Paul Abell-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire
A look at the betting lines for the UFC on FX 5 card in Minneapolis this weekend, and some suggestions on solid picks.
The betting lines are out for UFC on FX 5, and I'm liking what I'm seeing. The main card has one iffy bet and one slam dunk for me, and the undercard is full of fights with moderate value. Without further ado, let's take a look at them.
I actually like Bigfoot at +185. Browne is going to strike with him and while Silva's slower, he hits hard and can take the fight to the floor if need be. I think the line should be way closer to even, meaning a small bet on Silva wouldn't hurt. The best bet of the main card is undoubtedly Formiga at +175 though. Dodson hasn't looked all that impressive to me so far and Formiga is a beast.
On the undercard, I like Danny Castillo (I mean, I don't...I'm just gonna bet on him) at +120. I'm just not sold on Michael Johnson yet, especially since El Cucuy broke his arm early in their bout. Most of the undercard value should come from Jacob Volkmann though. He's an absolute steal at -180. Roller's a great wrestler but Volkmann can handle him since he's the better overall grappler. You can check out my recommended plays here, and see all the lines below.
.5 unit on Silva at +185
1 unit on Formiga at +175
.5 units on Castillo at +120
1.5 units on Volkmann at -180
Last week at UFC on Fuel 5: 2-1, +0.94 units
Total to date (2 events): 5-2, +2.77 units
