A day after UFC star Forrest Griffin revealed that he failed a drug test following UFC 101, more details have emerged regarding his brief suspension. Griffin has denied that he was impaired for his bout with Anderson Silva.
Yesterday Forrest Griffin revealed on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani that he failed a post-fight drug test following his UFC 101 bout with Anderson Silva. Griffin tested positive for the anti-anxiety drug Xanax. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission never announced the test results to the public and Griffin fought again three months later against Tito Ortiz.
It did however report to The Association of Boxing Commissions that Griffin received a 30 day suspension following the bout but did not share the reason why.

On his application for a license to fight Tito Ortiz at UFC 106, Forrest Griffin wrote that he'd three months prior received a 30-day suspension by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission.
Griffin tweeted a follow up comment after the interview:
Just to be clear I was not on drugs for the Sliva fight I simply appeared to be stoned
