Forrest appeared on MMA Tonight and gave his opinion on the highly surprising Sonnen-Jones match-up for The Ultimate Fighter(transcribed by MMAfighting.com):
Griffin, whose status on the year-end card is unclear at the time of this writing, offered his response to the TUF announcement to Ariel Helwani on UFC Tonight.
"I'm not mad at him," Griffin said, referencing Sonnen. "Why fight your way to the top when you can talk your way to the top?"
I would be surprised if this wasn't the reaction most other up and coming people have. I am curious to see reactions from other fighters especially the light heavyweights close to a title shot. Sports are supposed to be a meritocracy. An athlete/team is supposed to get what they have by winning. This completely goes against that. I'm sure the fighters who have collected skulls of other light heavyweights aren't happy that they got skipped over by someone so far back over something that had absolutely nothing to do with fighting.
