Minotauro Nogueira doesn't regret not tapping to Frank Mir

Over the past two years, Minotauro Nogueira went from an incredible KO victory at UFC 134 to devastating defeat at UFC 140. Now he's returning to his home country in hopes of another victory.

For the second time in his UFC career, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will fight in his homeland of Brazil at UFC 153. His first appearance in his native country was at UFC 134 against TUF 10 veteran Brendan Schaub. The fight resulted in an impressive first round knock out by Minotauro, who was coming off an injury and surgery. After that, Big Nog met two-time Heavyweight champion and perennial contender Frank Mir at UFC 140. Nog looked great out of the gate, but found himself on the wrong side of an arm-breaking kimura.

After the UFC 153 Open Workouts, Ariel Helwani of MMA Fighting caught up with Nogueira to see if he had regrets after not tapping to Mir's submission:

The decision I made when we were fighting, I was thinking about winning. I really thought I was going to escape the submission. We escape one, I roll one, two times. I was trying to move my shoulder up. In the same movement I moved that way, he did the other way.

Now, following another injury and surgery, Big Nog returns again to Brazil in hopes of repeating his performance against Schaub two years ago. On the main card this Saturday, he'll face Heavyweight oddball Dave Herman. "Pee Wee" has made himself somewhat notorious with claim that "Brazilian Jiu Jitsu doesn't work" on him and that he plans to sub the BJJ blackbelt in the second round. To these claims, Nogueira simply replies, "He talks too much."
