This Saturday, Invicta FC returns to action as the world's premier Women's MMA promotion. The main event features Atomweights Jessica Penne and Naho Sugiyama fighting in the first ever Invicta championship fight. Penne (9-1) is coming off a win over Lisa Ellis at Invicta's debut event back in April. Her only career loss came against Bellator's 125 lb. women's champion Zoila Gurgel. Her opponent, "Sugi Rock" Sugiyama is undefeated in 8 fights in Japan.

There was a bit of a last-minute shake up to the main card. Featherweight Elaina Maxwell, who was expected to face Julia Budd, was forced from her bout after suffering a concussion in training. Maxwell will be replaced by UK fighter Danielle West who took the fight on only a week's notice according to Invicta's president Shannon Knapp. Budd (3-2) will be trying to get consecutive wins for the first time in her career. Danielle will looking to recover after losing her last bout to Milana Dudieva at ProFC 40 in April.

Invicta FC 3: Penne vs Sugiyama will kick off at 7 pm EST (4 pm PST) from the Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS. Mauro Ranallo, "King Mo" Lawal, and Julie Kedzie will be the commentary team for the night. The entire event will stream live and free at InvfictaFC.com.
