Esther's a very talented photographer
and the photos are breathtaking, but I thought her narration was overwrought and pretentious and her analysis of the fights themselves made me wince. Her comparing herself to Nick Diaz? A baseball bat hitting a bull?

I concur . . .
Never would have noticed subtle things that make a big difference in how you appreciate a picture without the commentary (like Carwin’s body being in focus, but his face blurred by the punch).

She didn't compare herself to Nick Diaz
She said that she feels a special connection to fighters whose careers developed alongside her own, and Nick Diaz is one of those fighters. I think your criticism is petty.

That was enthralling.
Never thought I could be moved by still photos of fights I’ve already seen. The commentary really helps the uneducated appreciate the gravitas in these photos.

So glad I watched this
pretty amazing piece, both the pictures and commentary. I used to do photography until all my gear got stolen… after that it got put on the back burner while I pursued other ventures… this makes me want to pinch pennies and save up for all the gear and start it up again
