The saying 'art imitates life' was flipped a week ago as the Las Vegas hotel room of boxing legend Mike Tyson was broken into while he sleeping inside.
According to reports from TMZ, the 45-year-old Tyson and his family were staying at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas after attending a Stevie Wonder concert on New Year's Eve and awoke to sounds of 'rustling' and the glow of a flashlight. The thief escaped before Tyson could intercept them and nothing was reported as stolen.
Fans of the movie "The Hangover" will remember the famous plot thread of the main characters breaking into Tyson's Las Vegas home and stealing a tiger.
Tyson was also in the news recently for business matters as Yahoo's Dave Meltzer said to expect Tyson's record of main eventing pay-per-views (PPV) that sold more than 1 million buys to be broken by Manny Pacquiao. Tyson headlined six PPVs that surpassed the golden mark, while Pacquiao has five.
In 2011, Pacquiao joined Tyson and former UFC champion Brock Lesnar as the only men to draw 1 million+ PPV buys two or more times in a calendar year. Tyson has the record with three in 1996 (Evander Holyfield, Bruce Seldon, Frank Bruno).
