THE REEM
I like JDS, but I think he may lose this fight and Alistar has all the tools to be a big star.
People love heavy weights. He seems personable enough to cross over.
Sheeeeeeeee-it
Nick Diaz. He will be the guy people love to hate and will watch to see him get KO'd

I would think Aldo can have a break out year as well but people dont seem to really care for the lighter guys.
Dos Santos has the tools to be big. Hes got a fan friendly style. He’s a nice guy outside of the cage. He’s had exposure with TUF. And now he’s got a fight with another on the brink star in Overeem. Either of those guys can be big draws in 2012.

I would be willing to venture a guess that Reem and Jones blow up this year
Among the casuals I know, there was a crazy buzz following 135 and 140. Then I heard dozens of people tell me that Overeem would be the next world champ after smashing Brock, and that they planned on buying his next fight. If the UFC markets them right, they have two sure-fire stars on their hands.

I think Overeem will be the next star
Not necessarily because I expect him to be the champion but because he is better at promoting himself than anyone else. Overeem is one of the very few people in the UFC who can effectively be a celebrity—he presents himself well and is very media savvy. He has the potential to become a mainstream personality, which is what MMA needs right now.
