Sonnen we are waiting for you

I´m brazilian and i don´t like Sonnen, but i was happy to see him win last night. Althought I scored the fight for Bisping, i just don´t think that Anderson x the British would be the near as big as the Spider x Sonnen will be.

And from what i saw last night, I don´t think that Sonnen will be able to dictate the fight like he did last time. Bisping landed a lot of shots on Sonen and i just wondered, if it was Anderson, Sonen would on the ground in fetal position on the first round. Now i know that Anderson doesn´t have the same TDD as Bisping but come on, in the course of 5 ronds he will find that chin, hopefully with a knee.

That were some interesting tweets last night from Cigano and Jacare about Sonnen, here is a taste:

CIGANO:

I think that Anderson x Sonnen in Brazil will be huge, and i just can´t wait to see Sonnen humbled. I think that Anderson will send Sonnen out of MMA and into WWE, where he can finally have a a "real" belt.

Come on mister Sonnen, we are waiting for you, and in the imortal words of GSP: I´m not impressed by your performance.

Anderson DID land hard shots on Sonnen

Sonnen survived them because he never truly got rocked, i.e. getting hit hard enough to lose coordination, so he kept coming forward. That and the fact that there was so little time spent on the feet.

Silva probably won’t need the Hail Mary to win the rematch. Sonnen blew his chance, as the first time he caught Silva off guard as the first opponent with a fast, powerful double (not to mention a fearless attitude). This time Silva will be prepared, and while he may still lose a round or two, he’ll keep the fight standing long enough to win rounds or get a TKO.

I’m really curious what the odds are going to be when the fight is announced.

But Hail Mary is a bad name for a sub he was working for much of the fight. Seriously, I feel like I am taking crazy pills. Everyone get over the fact that Chael had top control and remember that Anderson never lost composure and was working towards a sub at all times.

Chael did a great job maintaining position, control, and avoiding subs, but I didn’t think he was landing heavy shots. What I came away with from that fight was: Anderson is a lot tougher than I gave him credit for. I feel like everybody was so shocked to see the champ on his back under control that they placed all of that on Chael. I remain convinced that Silva was injured. He got so much out of that one fight and his self hype that he seems better than he was. I really believe, and I’ll answer to this if Silva gets dominated and destroyed, that Silva will destroy Sonnen via KO and this whole thing will look silly.

I thought Lay N Pray was a stupid insult until I watched Tyrone Woodly fight.

Hail mary is the correct term for it, it doesn’t matter if you’re “working” for a sub for 5 rounds just like it doesn’t matter if you throw the football for the entire game and never get a reception.

It’s a “hail mary” because it was in the final frame of the fight, just like a “hail mary” pass is usually one of those final ditch effort passes to cover massive amounts of distance.

Anderson just getting wrist control and trying to move his right leg up repeatedly didn’t mean anything until he finally got it; just like a bunch of dropped passes don’t mean anything if that final hail mary pass gets what you need.

I think the Sonnen that showed up against Bisping gets annihilated by Anderson. Sonnen looked seriously off last night.

I wouldn't say he looked off. I think that, stylistically, Bisping matches up very well with Sonnen

in that he’s got size, good TDD, excellent scrambling, and the cardio to keep up with Sonnen’s soul crushing pace.

I’ve been saying for a while, rewatch the first 30 seconds of their last fight to see what a healthy Silva will do to Chael for most of the fight, especially if its the diminished version that fought Bisping.

Sonne will probably lose but it should be good.

he is the only one to really make Anderson look human. And I’m not talking about him taking him down for 4 rounds and beating on him. I’m talking about how sonnen dropped him standing. i know everyone will make a million excuses why that didn’t count but it was cool to see. I like Sonnen and he has a better chance of winning than most people do. You can also bet that Chael will be the one selling this PPV.

Fighting is like champagne. It goes to the heads of cowards as quickly as of heroes. Any fool can be brave on a battlefield when it's be brave or else be killed.
