Chael Sonnen secured his rematch with Anderson Silva after a unanimous decision victory over Michael Bisping at UFC on Fox 2 in Chicago Saturday evening. Originally booked to face Mark Munoz, an injury created the intriguing match up between the Brit and the gangster from West Linn, Oregon.
Fans and media believed that Sonnen would utilize his wrestling to dominate Bisping until he finished the fight. Bisping apparently didn't get the memo as he repeatedly stuffed takedowns and worked his boxing keeping Sonnen at range.
Though Chael Sonnen walked away with a unanimous decision, the judges didn't see it as a blow out. Bisping won a round on two score cards and rewatching it, the fight could have gone either way. Sonnen is expected to face Anderson Silva this summer in Brazil. The UFC is targeting the return to Brazil to take place in a soccer stadium in Sao Paulo.
