Rashad Evans talks about the Curse of the Blackzillians (via cagefanatic)

Cage Fanatic went to the UFC on Fox 2 open work outs at the famous Chicago Boxing Club and talked to Rashad Evans about the infamous Curse of the Blackzilliains. He tells us he is sure that the voodoo is going to stop tonight when he and fellow Blackzillian enter the cage. Well thanks as usual and hope for some great action and fights tonight....

Glad it was finally addressed

I don’t think it’s necessarily a ‘curse’ when multiple guys from your camp keep losing.

xtreme couture was taking serious losses around the time of couture-nog and nobody called that a curse

sometimes your camp just sucks regardless of fighter quality

Yeah, especially with this being a new camp

I mean…sure, the fighters might just be all having off nights.

But this is a rather newly put together camp…and if your camp is new and ‘different’ and has a ‘unique focus’ or whatever that separates it from other camps….and the results are what they are with such a bad stretch…maybe the overall training methods aren’t condusive to the best fight-night performances.

Melvin and Anthony Johnson are both notorious head-cases, Melvin more-so...

I think their short-comings are indicative of trends within themselves, not necessarily the team.

They weren't the only ones though

I think Mike Johnson is 1-1 with them. Jorge Santiago is either 0-1 or 0-2…not sure when he joined them.

Evans is really the only guy that has had real succes…and even then, his performance against Tito wasn’t on the level of Rogerio’s….and he didn’t exactly light the world on fire against Davis.
