UFC on Fox 2: Who is attending?

This Saturday will be my first live UFC experience. My girlfriend and I are beyond excited. We chose to settle for the nosebleed tickets but couldn't be happier about our decision. Is anyone else from the BE community making the trip? I know some of the staff are going, has anyone mentioned the idea of a meet up after the event or sometime Sunday?

Also, if you've been to an event before, what can I expect and what is your advice?

Friday they have all sorts of festivities at the Chicago Theater including the weigh-ins and autograph signings. Joe Rogan has a show at the Theater later that night and Tracy Lee has her Chicago birthday celebration that night at Spybar.

No real advice about the event itself – just show up and have a good time. You’re likely to bump into fighters in the concourses, though I think the odds are lower in the nosebleeds. Just watch Twitter, you’ll see what everyone is up to in the area around fight time. Looks like a ton of people are coming to Chicago for this.

I’ll be curious to see how many Bloody Elbanians will be in attendance, I guess we’ll find out here. I’m potentially open to a meet up of some kind.

Unfortunately

I will not be able to make any of the Friday night activities. I cannot leave Peoria til noon on Saturday so we are going to be cutting it close for the prelims. Which reminds me, at what point of the evening does the Baba O’Reilly video play?

From what I've seen right before the main card

I haven’t been to any events, but I’ve watched a few of them on youtube. Right after them they usually run the Gladiator theme.

How familiar are you with the area surrounding the United Center?

Any ideas on a place that could accommodate a potential BE meetup?

The area around the United Center? Not the best.

They’ve worked real hard to rehab the west side since the United Center went up and they’ve done an okay job, but it’s still not the nicest area.

There’s some divey places around there, not necessarily the best bar or restaurant selection. Just north of Madison on Lake, there’s a bar/restaurant/concert venue called Bottom Lounge which is okay. I’m not from city proper, so I’m unsure what other options there could be. I know there are a few other choices around there, I just haven’t frequented many places near the UC.

Yeah it's really not a great area.

Billy Goat Tavern is nearby and thats a nice sports themed place for potential meetups

There are approximately a million places I'd rather go in the city than that Tilted Kilt.

It’s like an Irish Hooters – decent in concept, miserable in execution. If you want to see tits and have a mediocre time, go there. The food is poor and the service is awful. Oh, and it will be full of brain dead UFC-tards. Otherwise, go basically anywhere else in the city that serves beer.

I’m pretty sure it’s open to the general public. Torres, Guida, and Hughes are the three names I’ve heard.
