BECW UFC on FX 1 Results

What's up mutherfukers? Another outstanding event is in the books and it was another high-scoring one with an average score of 60.7, higher than UFC 141 (59.5) and the second highest of all Season 1 & 2 events, the highest being UFC 136 (64.2).

Following INEPTs mediocre showing at UFC 142, The Voices In Rousimar Palhares' Head and The Filipino Reccing Machines had put themselves in perfect position to overtake the Intellegent ones by cutting INEPTs lead at the top to 13 and 33 points respectively. At the other end of the table, Ruining Your Special Night was the only team who had failed to reach the 1000 point mark, finding themselves in a battle with Luke Thomas' Beard to avoid the dreaded last place.

Meanwhile, a number of teams have been jostling for position in the middle of the pack, each one hoping to have the breakout event that would take them closer to the top. All in all, there were a number of interesting questions going into UFC on FX 1:

• Would Subbevil finally find it in him to pick an event? Would he be joined by other non-pickers?
  
• Would RolloTomasi's replacement, AkDeath, put up a score that would make his team forget about Rollo?
• Were INEPT a one-hit wonder?
• Would hardy's in your face hold on to his first place in the individual rankings?
• Would Horselover Fat rebound from his mind-bogglingly dismal performance and would lanky6 finally live up to his #4 pick status?
• Would crazybones continue to score less than the impressive juggalo, Seth Smiley?
• Will a Special Night ever be Ruined?

That's right mutherfukers, INEPT are back where they belong nearly 50 points clear at the top. Meanwhile, the 2nd and 3rd ranked teams finished 9th and 7th respectively, although it should be mentioned that The Filipinos were hampered by the non-picking of nitecastle.

A 104 point lead at the top for INEPT but only 28 points separate Cecil Peoples' Champs in 2nd place and the 5th ranked Bus Feeders. I tried to do a graphical view of the overall scores but Luke Thomas' Beard are so far behind that their score ended up in the Ju Jutsu fanpost.

Brock Lesnar's Cruelty-Free Pest Control barely missed the chance to improve by two positions for the second event in a row. Also on display: the steady decline of Luke Thomas' Beard and a clear division between top 5 and bottom 5 with Ned Stark's Bastards acting as the Cheick Kongo of the BECW.

There's not much point in me doing these now that our BECW camp contains almost the exact 110 members of the Civil War (thirdparty, who missed the deadline for providing e-mails is still listed, just ignore him), meaning the complete individual standings can be found here. Congratulations to halitosis who placed 12th on all of Playground with his incredible 93 score.

hardy's in your face lost his 1st place to kingofthedogs while Sweet Scientist/tokitok, Stiff Jab and halitosis cracked the top 10 thanks to some outstanding performances.

Out of the 21 rookies, 8 have managed to score above the camp average of 164 points. The top performers by far are everyone's favourite juggalo, Seth Smiley, and dribblebib who have managed an incredible 200+ points. Also impressing are the Paul Harris duo POW and KGNLuc followed by gspmademegay and benten20 representing the Bus Feeders.

It's amusing to note that while the Filipino Reccing Machines are doing well without rookies, the two teams that elected to pick just one rookie each happen failed to make that pick count; theworldismine and Subbevil are ranked 109th and 110th overall.

And I thought krcampbell was remarkably sucky. Well, he is, but he is joined at the bottom of the table by Zachary who is having a terrible season following his top 10 performance in Season 1. pistonhyundai is still the only captain in the top 10 overall. It's pretty striking that 6 out of 10 captains have below-average scores although OBP at 8th (75th overall) is only 11 points below the camp average.

What a difference a season makes

Before this season's draft, I listed all scores from Season 1 on Playground in a spreadsheet and calculated how each player's score deviated from the average score of an event. All these deviated scores were then averaged to form my draft sheet. Why not just list guys by total score, you ask? Well, some had only picked 1 event, others 8 or 9. Anyway, using the same deviation from the average formula I've compared how the 80 guys who picked more than 2 events during Season 1 have done after the first three events of Season 2. All the data is collected in two tables here; the first table is sorted by difference in deviation from the average from S1 to S2, the second table is sorted by difference in Season 1 and Season 2 ranking (out of the 80 players listed).
