Pat Barry defeats Christian Morecraft by knockout. The stoppage came at 3:38 in the first round.
Pat Barry entered the fight with his back against the wall. With two losses in a row and an overall UFC record of 3-4, it became hard to justify his spot on the heavyweight roster. With his back against the way, Barry put on the best performance of his career. Showcasing phenomenal submission defense and preventing several of Morecraft's takedowns, it was a more well-rounded Barry.
The finish came at the end of the first round when Barry slipped one of Morecraft's punches and landed a tight hook which landed flush to the chin. Several punches later and referee Herb Dean was forced to stop the fight. A fired up Barry pushed Dean and then flexed at Morecraft's downed body.
Barry is now .500 in the UFC and 7-4 in his MMA career. Christian Morecraft drops to 7-3 and 1-3 in the UFC.
