Watch Countdown To UFC 142 Rio Video On Bloody Elbow
Saturday brings us our first UFC event of 2012 with UFC 142, the promotion's return to Rio, Brazil, headlined by Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo vs. Chad Mendes with Vitor Belfort vs. Anthony Johnson in the co-main event.
While you can see the Countdown To UFC 142 show on Fuel TV starting at 10 PM EST Wednesday, the UFC has also made the entire video available to watch online in two parts.
Part one focuses on Aldo vs. Mendes with the usual training footage and background from both camps.
For the second half of the Countdown special, join us after the jump.
Part two focuses on Belfort vs. Johnson.
Bloody Elbow will have coverage of UFC 142 throughout the weekend, kicking in high gear on Thursday with the betting odds and the pre-fight press conference, Friday's staff predictions and the live weigh-ins to Saturday's event day with the usual primers, live play-by-play and then recaps and reactions from the night.

his grandma is funny tho
God help me, I lusted, and there is a promise in such sweat. But it is a whore's vengeance, and you must see it; I set myself entirely in your hands. I know you must see it now.
she’s certainly very endearing. she has a lot of maternal charm.
i had no idea he had such an interesting story, which is part of the reason these countdown shows rock.

Rumble and Akiyama are both ducking each other by changing weight classes.

I like when
They show info on the top 3 fights. Wanna know more about Palhares or Erick Silva. Otherwise I’m pretty excite about this card. I hope Aldo comes out and fights differently then what he did against Florian though. Watched that fight again and I didn’t remember it being that lame. Mendes has gotten pretty good but was not very impressive in his last fight either. Hopefully fighting in Brazil gets Aldo fired up and Mendes jet lagged for super violence.
Also Vitor will blitz johnson in the first round after a failed takedown and get disqualified (or at least should be) by hitting rumble in the back of the head 50 times.

This was one of the best countdowns I've seen
Better writing, better interviews. Nobody said “I will beat _________.”
I like how they didnt use a translator over Aldo's voice....
Hearing him actually talk does a lot to humanize him to fans, something spike TV knew nothing about.

Well
I guess I’m going to have to rely heavily on BE for countdown shows and other random videos since I don’t have Fuel…
Anderson Silva, Edson Barboza, Jose Aldo, Charles Oliveira, Thiago Alves = Muay Thai wrecking machines!

If you blinked you might’ve missed it but from 0:22 – 0:24 seconds in there is a slo-mo of what appears to be “money mendes” dropping a “people’s elbow” on a grappling dummy. I don’t really care too much for mendes as a fighter or a personality (I loathe pro wrestling, …now. i dug it as a little’n), But if he decides to pull some ish out like that in a fight i could easily be persuaded to like him more. haha
that Rolling Thunder dive in his last fight was pretty awesome. it really surprised the other guy.

How many times is the word
‘explosive’ used to describe Johnson? Must be all that training with Rashad.
