The cutoff to join the BE MMA picks game is tomorrow at 4:00, so if you would like to join over 50 (!!) of your fellow BE'ers in a war of MMA prognostication, please click the below link and leave a comment in the comments section that you'd like to play:
http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2011/9/6/2409192/cannibelism-intra-be-picks-game.
In order to play, if you're not a member already, you'll need to go to mmaplayground.com, create a username as close to your BE name as possible and join the "BloodyElbow.com fight camp."
Based on how many people express interest, we'll then come up with a determination of how many teams and how many players per team. Someone mentioned a draft- which could be great or terrible depending on your perspective, voice your view on this in the poll and comments. One thing I will say about that, is that I don't want to have to pore over members and pick teams, so I think that naming captains and then doing a schoolyard pick at a determined date/time would be best, but if anyone has any better ideas please mention them in the comments.
Fair Warning Disclaimer: If you doubt AT ALL your ability to get picks in on time, then don't even bother joining. There is no excuse to EVER miss a pick. You can make your picks months in advance, so if you know that life is about to get busy, make picks far in advance. If you miss picks for an event, you will be kicked out immediately (on top of feeling terrible because you fucked your team over for that event). So as to not punish your team indefinitely based on your own sucking at life, another member will then be selected to replace you and all of your comments on the site will be shunned! OK, maybe that's a bit harsh, but you'll definitely be out of the comp.
So, that's basically it for now. The first event is going to be Battle on the Bayou on Saturday, September 17th, so I'll give everyone until this Friday to enter, as it's going to take some time to sort everything out. So to reiterate- everyone who responds by this Friday, September 9th at 4:00 pm is in.
