Fedor Emelianenko will attempt to break his three-fight losing streak on November 12 against Jeff Monson. Monson announced the fight via his Twitter account.

M-1 Global co-found Vadim Finkelstein announced that Emelianenko's next fight would take place in Russia.

Emelianenko and Monson were originally targeted for BodogFIGHT in March of 2007. Negotiations fell apart, and Matt Lindland ended up fighting the Russian in St. Petersburg.

Emelianenko, the last Pride heavyweight champion, was released from his Strikeforce contract after dropping his third fight in a row when Dan Henderson forced a referee stoppage in the first round. From 2003 to 2009, Emelianenko was widely regarded as the number one heavyweight in the sport.

Jeff Monson is 40 years old and a 54-fight veteran of the sport. He's most known for his four-fight run in the UFC in 2006 which ended with a loss to Tim Sylvia at UFC 65. He has been rumored to fight former UFC contender Gabriel Gonzaga in October. No word on whether this announcement changes that plan.
