Rich Attonito vs. Claude Patrick Set for UFC 140
TUF 11 veteran Rich Attonito will look to keep his momentum going when he faces Claude Patrick in Patrick's hometown of Toronoto at UFC 140 on December 10th. The fight was one of three announced for the card today. UFC.com shares the info:
Also on tap for Toronto, "Raging Bull" Rich Attonito and Claude "The Prince" Patrick have accepted a welterweight matchup.
Both men are, strangely enough, coming off a win over the same guy, Daniel Roberts. Patrick defeated him at UFC 129 by decision, while Attonito decisioned him at UFC on Versus 4. Attonito made his welterweight debut in that fight. He started off his UFC career with two straight wins at middleweight, but a decision loss to Dave Branch at UFC Fight Night 22 led to the drop in weight. Patrick is undefeated in the UFC thus far, with three straight wins.
The UFC also officially announced a previously-reported bout between John Cholish and Mitch Clarke for the UFC 140 card.
Rich "The Raging Bull" Attonito (10-4)
Win Daniel Roberts - Decision (Unanimous) UFC on Versus 4
Loss Dave Branch - Decision (Unanimous) TUF 12 Finale
Win Rafael Natal - Decision (Unanimous) UFN 22
Claude "The Prince" Patrick (14-1)
Win Daniel Roberts - Decision (Unanimous) UFC 129
Win James Wilks - Decision (Unanimous) UFC 120
Win Ricardo Funch - Submission (Guillotine Choke) UFC 115

Patrick. I was hoping they'd give him a bigger name.
The guy IS 3-0 in the UFC and 14-1 in his career

Patrick is a prospect that is totally flying under the radar but picking up a win streak. When MMA fans talk about Welterweight prospects, Claude Patrick’s name does not come up. He showed some solid striking against Roberts, and Patrick’s ground game is very good as well. I have him beating Attonito on the feet and on the ground. Besides Patrick’s fight against Funch, his next two fights were not that fun to watch, and I’m guessing that’s why he doesn’t get too many big fights yet or on the main card.

This.
Patrick is an excellent grappler and a very proficient BJJ black belt, but like, say, Wagnney Fabiano, his game is built around positional dominance and not sub attempts.
He’ll repeatedly pass guard, so it’s not exactly lay and pray, but he rarely goes for anything crazy, so it’s not all that fun to watch.
True. He's also been on the undercard for all his fights.
The only reason I know about him was that I saw his debut live at 115 in Vancouver

Might want to fix this line.
“Roberts is undefeated in the UFC thus far, with three straight wins.”
Pretty sure you mean to say Claude Patrick there.
If Patrick takes this as easy as I think he will,
I would like to see him take on an established vet. Someone where we can get a good gauge of his skills.
