Diego Sanchez Out of UFC 135 With Broken Hand

Dana White tweeted this afternoon that one of the co-main event of UFC 135 is now out the window. Diego Sanchez has been removed from his bout with Matt Hughes due to injury. Here's what Dana had to say:

Diego Sanchez broke his hand. Looking for a replacement for Hughes.less than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhone Favorite Retweet Reply

With just 19 days until the UFC 135 card, this is a big blow to the event. Sanchez is coming off a razor-thin decision win over Martin Kampmann at UFC on Versus 3 and a win over Hughes would likely have propelled him back into title-shot talk. Current top welterweights that aren't booked for fights and could step in on this sort of notice include Rory MacDonald and Johny Hendricks. Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger are scheduled to main event UFC Fight Night 25 the week before, but it seems unlikely that they'd tinker with that main event. So who is Hughes going to fight?

Update by Tim Burke - Josh Koscheck just sent these two tweets:

:) got a fight in 21 days b*tches........

Oh ya 19 days then or something like that!!!! Either way it looks like I am in to fight matt Hugh if he takes it????
