ProElite 2 Set For November 5th, Sylvia vs. Rizzo, Arlovski vs. Fulton Headlining

The new ProElite has locked down the details for their second card since re-emerging on the scene. The show will take place at the iWireless Center in Moline, IL on November 5th, and will feature two heavyweight bouts on top. MMA Fighting has the 411:
The main event is expected to be a heavyweight bout between former UFC champion Tim Sylvia and three-time UFC heavyweight title challenger Pedro Rizzo. Additionally, fellow former UFC heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski will fight Travis Fulton, regarded as the busiest fighter in MMA history with more than 300 career fights.
Also expected on the card is the start of an 8-man heavyweight tournament featuring Mark Ellis, and bouts featuring Reagan Penn and Tara LaRosa. Promoter T. Jay Thompson says that a fourth meeting between Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski "isn't in their plans right now, but could be down the road". They are negotiating to have the fight broadcasted on HDNet right now, but nothing is finalized as of yet. The show had been scheduled to take place in Atlantic City, but scheduling conflicts forced them to find a new venue, which just happens to be very close to where Tim Sylvia lives and works as a police officer.

I think we see Pro Elite on Showtime by March
Hopefully they bring back the ShoXC prospect shows with them.

On top of seeing ProElite on Showtime, I think that they’ll have the Womens 135 and 145 lb weight divisions and all of Strikeforce’s female fighters. They’ve worked with Gina, Cyborg and other female fighters before (and currently), and I think they would be best to take the reigns for those two female weight classes.

After Fulton wins his first fight
He’ll quit and sign with the UFC and be put in a number one contenders match with the winner of Mir/Nog.

Rizzo’s slope is just as slippery. He’s one of my favourite fighters though. Hope he KO’s Tim, he has a good chance of winning the whole shabang.

Fulton’s 3 fights with Dan Severn account for less than 1% of his total record.

These guys are not relevant anymore in MMA and pretty much this is all they can do in there careers. Put on some fun fights for the fans. I just think it would be a great stand up war

its a sad state for Arlovski that he is fighting Fulton
Here’s a guy who was Ufc champ, one of the most feared HWs in the wolrd and was even giving the business to Fedor(arguably) before Fedor started on the down slope…
And now he’s legitamitely fighting a guy who makes a living off beating bums in iowa(as opposed to beating off bums in iowa lolz)
I know AA needs his confidence back but dayum…

the sad sad part is I can actually see it happening, It’s not all out of the question that Fulton eather taps that Jaw or wins a sloppy boring rising out top position for 3 rounds decision, I know he won his last fight Arlovski be he just looked horrible in that fight, He has looked better in some of his Ko losses then he has that Win, His carrerr is over and I wish he and greg Jackson would realize that ? That last performance should of told them both that
I couldreally care less about eather fight, I Wish they would focus on young talent and building there own stars then having old washed up UFC champs and vets headline there card.I thinnk Pro Elire 2.0 will be going down the same road as the first version and the 2011 Red Sox in septemember !
The idea is probably
Put on shows headlined by bigger names. And introduce roster prospects once the eyes are there. Pretty standard operating procedure for a start-up promotion.
