JT Money got got.

That’s a decent win for Lombard. Taylor is solid, not special, but solid.

Was this televised? Ouch for JT, a lot of people who get heel hooked in MMA aren’t the same fighter they were before, its usually a move that will always injure no matter how quickly you tap.

Lombard needs to fight more or defend his title against “bigger” names, guess its nice to know he can tap out TUF alum.

Someone from ATT posted on the UG that he won by 2nd round TKO. But this Sherdog article says otherwise.

Er

Posted that Lombard won by 2nd round TKO. Taylor definitely didn’t win the fight.

I'm not doubting Lombard won

It’s obviously a wiki troll job.

Good for him

But every time I hear about Hector Lombard winning a fight I think of two things.

1. Brad Pitt in Troy screaming out ‘Hector!’ over and over again. Then that usually leads to some sort of crazy image of Anderson doing that in hopes that Lombard would come to the UFc.

2. I want Bellator to fold so Lombard would maybe come to the UFC.

I want to see him vs. Paul Harris

Two MW"s built like mack trucks, that can grapple better then most in their division, and can also throw the leather with some serious power..

Lombard keeps proving that he can beat the mid-tiers of the Middleweight Division. I would like to see him fight some upper-tier Middleweights, but Bellator just doesn’t have that quality of Middleweight. Marquardt vs Lombard would have been cool, but I can’t see that happening for a while.

Lombard vs Mamed Khalidov ??

Why can’t this happened? I’d like to see him against Tim Kennedy as well but not holding my breath now that Strikeforce is part of Zuffa. Not much left out there except, if he beats Khalidov, have him fight the winner of Jake Rosholt vs Thales Leites. After that, he fights winner of latest Bellator tourney winner.
If he wins all of those (and none of these are official, just me hoping), then you force him to fight winner of Spider Silva vs (Sonnen/Stann winner)
…side bar, I’d still like to see Silva fight Hendo while waiting for Sonnen/Stann winner because Hendo is getting old, he’s marketable right now after a couple wins and it keeps Silva busy as well.

I like Lombard vs Khalidov

Khalidov is awesome, but I think I’d take Lombard. I think long term, I’d prefer to see Khalidov just come to the UFC instead of getting tied up with Bellator, and maybe get a trilogy fight with Santiago.

I had know idea Rosholt vs fighting Leites…or was that another fight you were just hoping for? I would get the feeling of that being the type of matchup that’s a bit of a ‘winner comes back to the UFC’ scenario.

I don’t know if I like the idea of Hendo cutting down to 185 any more. Silva vs Hendo at 205, I’d be all for that.

Silva vs Hendo at 205

While making sense on paper, I don’t think anyone needs this fight. With Hendo’s unwillingness to use his wrestling increasing every fight, I think he gets even more outclassed this time round.

by vicesquad26 on Sep 4, 2011 3:44 AM EDT up reply actions

One thing Hendo is not is Dumb

He’d definitely learn from his previous fight and he used his greco wrestling very effectively against a superior striker in Feijao.

As shallow as 185 is, I think Hector would get horribly exposed in the UFC. There would be some very entertaining fights for him and winnable ones if Joe SIlva so chooses, but once he started fighting top 10 guys I think the hype train would slow down quite quickly.

I’m saying this as a Hector fan.

by vicesquad26 on Sep 4, 2011 3:39 AM EDT reply actions

Alot of people say this about Jacare and Hendo

But 185 everywhere is weak. Including in the UFC sans 2 or 3 guys. I dont see him getting exposed at all.

by mortarz on Sep 4, 2011 9:34 AM EDT via mobile up reply actions

jacare is solid.

Hendo is super solid. If Mw is soft so is LHW. Hendo was champ at both and has wins over Big Nog and Fedor at HW.

I am a huge Bellator fan

but this guy is just Paul Harris with more aggressive stand up and judo.

Dude is an overblown welterweight who will gas horribly against the first top 15 guy he steps in the cage with, please believe.
