If you
Cant get excited for a Cruz fight, you don’t understand the sport.
BTW where is the marketing and advertising for this fight? Haven’t seen one TV commercial…

Completely agree even if I’d love to see him grab a few finishes to shut the haters up a bit.

disagree completely
you can enjoy Cruz if you want, and that’s fine … but a lot of people don’t enjoy his DWTS routine, and i’m one of them. don’t get me wrong — i recognize the talent involved in his fighting style, and i think his speed + movement make him very hard to hit. but don’t act like it’s enjoyable to watch.

I don't have to "act"
You’ve obviously never trained and don’t understand what he does. I guess the majority of people haven’t, but that besides the point…why would someone act like they like something like that?
His striking mixed with takedowns and constant movement is so amazing. And you are a KOOK.

sure, sure
you obviously failed reading comprehension, so i’ll spell it out for you: again. i recognize the talent in his fighting style. doesn’t mean it’s fun to watch. you’re going to see Cruz dance around awkwardly, pick his spots, evade meaningful engagements and sneak in key takedowns.
it’s a great strategy, and it’s obviously working for him. but it is not interesting to watch. since he rarely engages in any meaningful way with his opponent, it’s just boring.

You can spell it out a million different ways
And it still doesn’t make any sense. Evade meaningful engagements?! Like the guy that doesn’t show up to the family gatherings?!
You can have your own opinion that you think he’s a boring fighter….just don’t say that all of us fans that see how exciting he is (this number out numbers you and people that agree with you I’m sure) are “acting”. That’s just stupid.

context clues, man, context clues.
you know exactly what i meant. don’t act stupid.
or hey, maybe it’s not an act.

not my fault you got zinged on your own logic.
i don’t have anything against you. you’re the one who called me a kook for having a different opinion than you, which is pretty ridiculous.
you like Cruz, that’s fine. but to me his fighting style is the standup version of lay-n-pray.
people have different opinions. when you grow up, you’ll realize that.

I would have never known this was on.
If it wasn’t for Bloodyelbow. And i agree with the statement from above, if you don’t get excited for this guy, then you don’t understand the sport.
Sheeeeeeeee-it
Exactly
Anybody who says this kid needs to channel any energy obviously doesn’t know what they’re watching.
i don't think he needs to channel any energy
that’s ridiculous. what he does takes a ton of energy. it’s just not entertaining.
the perception is that Cruz is going to play pattycake with Mighty Mouse all fight long and win a boring decision — and that’s a rep Cruz has earned with his inability to finish fights.

Although I do enjoy Cruz's fighting style but
If he wants more mainstream exposure, dudes gotta get a finish, gotta beef up that highlight reel. He hasn’t stopped anyone in his zuffa career (ok maybe Bowles but that was more of him breaking his hand than Cruz finishing him)
The key is to hit the guy in the jaw really hard before the other guy does it to you.

Cruz broke his hand too
and was still ready to continue fighting.

Bowles was really probably just relying on his big right as his gameplan
And when it broke he was screwed. Cruz has more weapons than Bowles, so Cruz could easily continue.

Miguel Torres
Before Tri-Star he was so much fun to watch. Always put himself out there to finish fights. Loved watching him stand and bang or grapple.

I think it says something about how happy people are with BE
I personally don’t see the need to sign up for another website to discuss MMA. As long as they keep posting links to MMA Nation here, I’m going to keep discussing the articles in those links here.
