3 Things I Took From the Main Event

Ok, wont lie jsut caught the main event at the bar cause this card had absolutely zero interest level for me. An old Fireball Kid vs a D Bag and Matt Hughes vs an even younger D Bag weren't that intriguing. So here is what I took from the main event.

3. Time to Face it, Rampage is Boring Now - never thought I would say it, but seriously, Rampage vs Rashad, Rampage vs Lyoto and Rampage vs Jones, in all 3 of those fights Rampage has started slow, taken forever to get going, been held against the cage, and owned against the fence. The Machida fight is an exception because Rampage won a decision, but honestly that fight was a boring draw if I ever saw one. I think its safe to say Rampage is done as an exciting fighter.

2. Jones is as Cocky as we thought - seriously what the hell was that monkey crawl stuff he did to start the fight. Seriously, this kid ain't Anderson SIlva, an old Rampage was seeing his telegraphed shots. His downfall will be this style of proving how confident he is. Just watch.

1. Jones Reach is his best asset - seriously Jones was unloading front shin kicks and straight lefts at will, Rampage, uhh he was still moving his head side to side trying to get in range. And there lies the problem. Jon Jones has the same reach as Wladimir Klitschko, he can keep anyone at bay and is in range when other fighters are still trying to shuffle in. Rampage's wild rushes were almost sad they were so pathetic. Jones at 205 is going to be a tough fighter to beat and I think the reach is a huge part of it.
