Yesterday it was suggested by Rob Tatum over at The MMA Corner that Brock Lesnar had been advised by some doctors to not return to fighting and that he might be edging towards retirement. At the press conference for today's UFC on Fox main event announcement, Dana White put that rumor to bed. Apparently Brock is good to go, and isn't about to retire:
"That's ridiculous. It's so far from the truth it's not even funny. The guy's been working up on a farm up in Canada all summer. He's 100 percent. His surgery went great, he's 100 percent, he's getting back into training in the next couple of weeks."
Clearly Lesnar wasn't a candidate for the November 12th UFC on Fox show, which will be a one-fight main event for the UFC heavyweight title between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos. But Dana had said before that Brock will be ready to return in early 2012, and it appears he is still on track to do that. It will be up to the UFC and Lesnar to decide exactly when he does return, and who his return fight will be against.
