The UFC has scheduled a media conference call for 2 p.m. ET today to promote the upcoming season of the Ultimate Fighter. Coaches Michael Bisping and Jason "Mayhem" Miller are scheduled to participate on the call. UFC President Dana White is not listed in the official UFC press release.

The Ultimate Fighter, now in its fourteenth season, debuts on Wednesday, September 21. This season will be the last on Spike TV. The show will move over to the FX cable network per the UFC's landmark deal with Fox.
Bisping and Miller will fight on the show's finale on December 3. Bisping last fought in February, earning a controversial TKO victory over Jorge Rivera at UFC 127. Miller returns to the UFC after his first and only fight in the company against Georges St. Pierre back at UFC 52. Miller hasn't fought since submitting the legendary Kazushi Sakuraba in Japan in last September.

Before the show I hated him. During the show I hated him. After the show I hated him. Now I look forward to kicking his ass.
I was more comfortable without the nationality angle of the first show I coached.
My team was all "real fighters." They weren't there to get air time. They wanted to improve.
I've never put an act on ever. I'm always me. That's why some people care for me and some people don't.
The show's about the fighters and giving them a chance to break into the big time.
Mayhem hasn't annoyed me to the same degree as Jorge Rivera. He just comes up with stupid shit constantly.
Rivera crossed a line. He got into family and stuff. Jason's not like this. He's just a bit idiotic.
When you coach, it makes your own technique better.
The more time I spent around Mayhem, the more he irritated me.
There was never any hesitation of accepting the coach role.
The reality is there's a downside. It means a ten-month layoff. It means a fight against Jason Miller.
Anderson Silva hasn't wiped out the MW division. He hasn't fought me yet. I think I match up well with him.
This was always a big opportunity for Jason. He went from fighting on the undercard to fighting on a main event with me.
The only thing I shouldn't have done in season 9 was squirt water in Damarques Johnson's face.
Other than that, I don't think I did anything wrong. I tried to make the show entertaining.
My coach changes had more to do with availability than anything else.

Bisping is a complex character. An individual you could write many tomes of knowledge on.
As the season wore on, I hated his guts. Then I didn't care. Now I hate his guts again.
I'm here. I've just been ignoring Mike's handiwork. I definitely got under his skin.
Me and Mike, with the personality clash, put a damn good show on.
Sounds like you're trying to sweeten me up so I don't beat you up as bad in December.
My first priority on the show was giving my full attention to the fighters. My second priority was putting on entertaining TV.
These fighters weren't the normal crop of TUF guys. Some of these guys had 30 fights. These were developed athletes.
There were some upsets. There were some guys who you (the media) have covered, and they didn't get into the house.
At the end of the day, it comes down to what's best for my career and what's best for the UFC's bottom line.
Looking as a TV viewer, I'm enthralled with the first two episodes of the show I've seen.
I have to tip my hat off to Bisping for signing off on this.
Honestly, I didn't watch Lesnar-dos Santos. I didn't feel any pressure to put on good TV.
I think they just did a better job casting this season.
I can't imagine the Lesnar-dos Santos conference call going a quarter as well as this one.
Are you asking me if I thought the fighters on his team were bullies? C'mon man.
The similarity between me and Mike is that I just try to be myself. And if you don't like it, I don't care.
They had a camera stuck on your face and a microphone stuck up your ass the entire time.
I can't speak for Mike, because I can't do that stupid accent.

I’m no Bisping fan, but I see Mike taking Miller out just like this.
But from what I can tell:

why unlikely?
as much as i loathe bisping, i dont see mayhem giving him any problems.
Bisping is an all around good fighter, but by no means a MW championship contender.
Oh well, by some miracle I hope Miller submits him, highly unlikely.
I say either BIsping will batter him to a decision or tko Miller late in the 2nd round.
Mayhem is gonna submit Bisping.

Mayhem is a much higher level grappler than Bisping.
Bisping has never faced a guy like Mayhem before.
Mayhem on the other hand has been in there with GSP, Shields, Kennedy, Saku, Lawler, Jacare, I think Mayhem RNC’s Mikey.

Mediocre?
Their opponents are ranked #1, 3, 14, 18, 4, 2, 7, 11, and 17. That’s not including Kang and Sakuraba because they are unranked. That means out of the 9 ranked opponents the average ranking is still 10.

Those fights were against good opponents and they mostly represent losses.
There aren’t many worthwhile names aside from that…
Fuck, I forgot Miller fought so many good guys.
Bisping’s competition is better, though.

If so, not by a wide margin...
Lawler is no better than Leben and Saku was already well well well past garbage when they fought. Pretty much a toss up IMO. Not in term of BJJ, but overall.

As much as I love Wandy he isn’t what he used to be and Bisping basically got beat three times in one fight against Wanderlai(Saved by the bell sub, saved by the bell KO, UD).
Kang is basically the one win people always prop up Bisping with, but I always remember that fight as Bisping losing until Kang gassed/psychological broke down, and well Kang isn’t exactly a top 20 guy IMO.
He got absolutely tooled by Hendo, just embarrassed.
He got LNP/judged versus Evans, which is more than a bit mind-boggling because Evans, until recently, has shown the absolute worst ability to keep his guy on the ground despite his ability to get them there in the first place.
I think Leben is probably his best win, he beat a roided up Leben by coming up with a good game plan, that worked for him, and sticking to it. Was it somewhat boring? Sure. It was a solid win though, and I’ll give him his due for that.
Now let’s look at Mayhem
He fought GSP during the rise of GSP and came in looking like he was fighting at Baleweight. He still fought a game fight, definitely losing 30-27 at least, but taking a lot of punishment and still going for subs, and striking.
He fought Shields, and while he got wrestled down, he was still about 2-4 seconds from winning the fight, and never really looked out of his element.
I could go on here, but good fights against GSP/Shields > All of Bispings competition. Basically the difference between Mayhem and Bisping is that Mayhem isn’t completely outclassed anywhere by Bisping, whereas Bisping is absolutely outclassed by Mayhem on the ground. Bisping has very little power in his strikes, and his only real path to victory is going for the decision, that’s a bad place to be as a fighter against a veteran guy.
No matter how you break it down,
I have a hard time rationalizing why
2 Welterweight champions
are leagues better
3 Light Heavyweight
Meh
it really comes down to the grappling aspect. as Rollo pointed out, Miller has faced much tougher grapplers than Bisping and held his ground or persevered. regardless of weight class, it’s not the same.

I agree that he is a better grappler
and I think he can do more damage when he’s on top but I don’t see him taking Bisping down or anybody getting the advantage in the stand-up

Hope so. Bisping has solid GNP though, could make it interesting.

and be successful in the ufc. Part of me wants Bisping to keep winning though because I’m a sick mofo and I want to see Anderson Silva fight Bisping.

I suppose the UFC might even consider him for a title shot if he wins here.
I will be cheering for Mayhem though.

This is a tough fight to pick
Mayhem is at a huge disadvantage on the feet but Bisping is not even close to being on Mayhem’s level on the ground.
If Mayhem can take this fight to the mat he should win, if not then he will lose a by UD
