The Amanda Nunes vs. Alexis Davis match started with a bang on the HD Net undercard of Strikeforce Grand Prix: Barnett vs. Kharitonov.

Both women came out whirling heavy combinations. Davis looked to clinch up and neutralize the big punches from Nunes, and they exchanged knees and punches against the fence. Nunes secured a takedown and put Davis on her back for a brief while, then landed a sharp right hook when they returned to their feet.

Davis closed the distance better to start the second, wrapping Nunes up to contain her striking. Nunes hit a beautiful hip throw in the center of the cage, but Davis quickly reversed position and blitzed with ground and pound. Nunes gave her back and the punishment continued, inspiring a referee stoppage shortly after.

Alexis Davis showed strong resolve and snapped the six-fight win streak of Amanda Nunes with a second round TKO victory.
