MMA Nation's Luke Thomas spoke with UFC debutant Mike Easton at the UFC on Versus 6 open workouts today in Washington, D.C. Easton showed off his ghastly elbow reconstruction and talks about his (soon to be fulfilled) promise to his parents to make the UFC. He'll debut against Jeff Hougland at the Oct. 1 show. Mr. Thomas also interviewed UFC bantamweight champ Dominick Cruz and the man who'll be challenging him for the title, Demetrious Johnson. See those video interviews at MMA Nation.

Easton's a really nice kid
and I"m a big fan of his from my time in the DC area. Really glad to see he’s getting over his injuries and finally making the big time.

Hallman ruined it for everyone

But to be fair, I remember a few people commenting on Easton’s speedo when I saw him fight

Always been a big fan of Dominick Cruz.
Smart guy, and has an entertaining elusive style (In my humble opinion)
He has a fast paced style
which helps him be a little more entertaining. Personally I’d like to see him start mixing in power shots after he’s worn his opponents down. Right now, he confuses his opponents with his quick movement and making them wary of both strike and takedown threats. His cardio is great, so he has no trouble doing this for 5 rounds.
As he develops, I think he should start planting his feet more in the later rounds to unload crisp body and head combos, which should lead to him getting more finishes.
