I blame Kid Nate.
So, we have riots going on right now. You might have seen it on the news. I'm fortunate enough to be outside of the city, but it's still only about 50 miles away. It started from a protest by friends, family and community over a young man that was shot dead by police for allegedly shooting at them or brandishing a gun. I know, nothing to protest about if it happened in the USA but I'm not going to get into a political diatribe about how bad the UK is. Since this protest petrol bombs have been thrown at various public property, shops and peoples homes are being broken into and set alight and there's general looting going on.
So far it's lasted 3 days and our Prime Minister is still on holiday in Italy but has been 'keeping a close eye' on the situation. Good to know. Apparently he's back by tomorrow morning to hold an emergency meeting with COBRA which isn't some organisation of comic book villains, sadly.
The police force is under-manned and over-stretched, and mobs of youths have been using social media to organise and bring chaos. Look for certain right wing media writers calling for the abolition of twitter and facebook in the coming days.
Hopefully I'll see y'all in the morning.
Night night. Sleep tight. Don't let the masked hoodies set things alight.
