Jonathan Snowden put it well. Even Vitor and Rashad dominating both halves of the co-main was eclipsed by the indelible image of the "hairrow" vs. The "hammock". Ever since his UFC debut, where he shocked Chris Lytle inAustralia, Bran Ebersole has gone from obscurity to the main card of a PPV for the top tier of the UFC. As befits a wrestler who cut his teeth under Matt Hughes, his top game is devastating. Brian Ebersole has over 50 career fights, and despite living the better part of his career outside the view of most MMA fans, he is now riding a two fight win streak in the big leagues. But what was with his opponent? Why did Hallman go over the top with the blue banana hammock? Unsubstantiated speculation to follow...
I apologize for the formatting of this post...iPads and BE don't mix...
While watching the intro interviews before the Ebersole-Hallman fight, one of my neighbors stated that he thought Brian Ebersole was gay...okay, I thought. that doesn't make a difference to me at all, but if his gaydar is going off, who am I to question it? what happened next made me revisit this off hand comment during the fight. When Hallman stripped down to what may be the smallest pair of shorts in the post Zuffa UFC, I began to wonder if this was a strAtegy by Hallman to distract Ebersole. this inkling was further enhanced by the squat thrust routine Hallman underwent in the center of the cage. perhaps he was just trying to outdo the man with the man scaping, but whenEbersole feel asleep in his signature cRtwheeel crouch, and nearly got choked out for his troubles, I knew I had to post this question to the BE community. Do you think Hallman was attempting to throw the showman Eberdole off his game by his choice of wardrobe, or was it something more? given the sickening sound of Ebersole's strikes to his head prior to the TKO, do you think Hallman regrets waking the dragon?
