Dear BE staff...
I know we can get demanding, rude and over zealous sometimes but, thanks for putting up with our shit. The best thing about Bloody Elbow is how interactive the staff is with the fans, I cant really think of another site where writers take the time to debate with and teach the people who read their articles. The downside of that is sometimes we all start to think we're part of the staff, we forget that we're just fans and some of us just dont really know how much work you guys put into the upkeep of this site. We forget that for every 300 comment-worthy article, someone not only took time to research and write it, but took more time to moderate each and every comment that we put up. Honestly, Im just some dude with a blog that like 15 people read. There are days when I have no clue what to write, Im kind of amazed that the staff here has managed to keep things this interesting for so long.
I spent a year just reading this site everyday, too scared to comment on any articles or put up any fanposts. I let the Sherdog forum and the UG jade my view of MMA experts, I started to think they where all pompous and arrogant jerk offs. But the staff here at BE has been unbelievably inviting and informative. Some of the staff here even encourages me to write on my blog, if I dont put anything up in more than a few days I have Kid Nate telling me to "get back on the horse". As a fan of MMA and Bloody Elbow I cannot describe to you how awesome it is for someone you look up to to encourage you to do something you love. So again, thanks BE staff for putting up with our shit and thanks for doing what you guys do. Keep up the good work!

Wayyyy more than a year for me. I was trying to figure out why everyone kept picking on this “Subo” character.

Maybe you should’ve waited a bit longer before commenting :P

Echoes my sentiments
From Fagan’s note yesterday. BE is the site to go for intelligent forum discussion.
Interesting point…I never thought about how much it means to have the staff interact so freely (and often) with the posters/commenters. Really helps the flow and focus of the conversation.
I started to think they where all pompous and arrogant jerk offsor 10 year olds (no offense to any intelligent 10 year old BE contributors).
Hmm...
BE is the site to go for intelligent forum discussion.
Well, we certainly are more intelligent than our competition, but I don’t think we always have the most cerebral discussions. But hell, I love it anyway.

The best thing about the BE comment section: there aren’t any kids.

Bloody Elbow, and the people here, have made this one helluva place to go for MMA coverage. From the staff, to the regulars, it’s a quality place to go whether you simply want to read, or discuss.
I lurked for a long time before commenting, and then commented a long time before daring to put up a fanpost. My first few were early A.M. rants about the recent UFC event, then I found out that I really enjoyed writing about MMA, more than I thought I would. Some of the best posts on BE have been in the fan posts, rather than a front page article. That’s not a knock on BE’s front page at all, rather a great testament to how damn good some of the people in the community are. You don’t get that anywhere else, and we definitely wouldn’t get it here if the staff wasn’t willing to swing that banhammer when they need to.
I don’t comment like I used to (I used to be a comment junkie) but the amount of time I spend on BE hasn’t changed. It is THE place to go. Not for everyone, as there’s a level of maturity expected, and the staff knows how to put their foot down, but personally, that fits me just fine.
Keep on keepin’ on BE.

Oh geez, I didn't realize you could use so few words to give so many blowjobs.
Just kidding, I agree with you. I spend an absolutely embarassing amount of time on this website even when I’m not commenting. I only ever go to other sites to see if they have an interview or some other exclusive items, but I don’t ever comment there. The commenting isn’t quite what it used to be, say a year and a half ago, but still far far better than the competition.
be=literally my favorite website

i tried to change my username to 'big country fit' but the system wouldnt let me.
I'm not sure what that website is
And I’m glad

I got ripped a new one on my first day.

I put up a fanpost the day after I registered and there were like 200 comments about how I was an idiot. It was kind of amusing.
HA that's so amazing
that was one of the first posts I commented on. And man did I get some heat! Yes, I am the former OppositesAttack. I was scared away from commenting for a while after that. So funny to see that posted today and read my old argument…which I still think is a valid opinion of BJs work ethic and potential.
thanks for that trip down memory lane….what a learning experience. I am quite a bit more reserved in my opinions now after that total flaming I received.

You scared the shit out of me with your intro “Dear BE Staff”.
I thought it was another open letter.
Thank you for not writing another open letter.
It takes great work and thinking to keep from doing work.

What actually makes them different?
What criteria must it meet to be an open letter?

No offense
but this is why Mania makes fun of BE…

Bloody Elbow Citizens hear me.
For here at BE I am in the bastion of honorable men.
when I am out of line, bash a fighter, Besmirch a talent
I am prohibted from expressing such a painful dig or a hurtful slight

We Dont make fun of u guys for thanking ur writers
Thats understandable, they work hard. Maniacs do make fun of the fact that if someone says the word “vagina” or “Jon jones is an asshole” they will get banned. Also I find it hilarious how much we r ahead in the UFC pool, after many of u said it would be an easy victory
