At least, that’s according to UFC heavyweight, Junior dos Santos, who had the following to say after Saturday night’s big victory of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira:
Rocky Balboa got left behind, he’s no one close to Rodrigo Minotauro. Minotauro is a legend! There was a phrase he kept listening to before the fight, and so did I, that comes from Rocky Balboa: "It's not about how hard you can hit, it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward"
This phrase sums up Big Nog’s career quite nicely, who had the following statement after the fight:
I can’t find a single word that can describe what happened. It’s the realization of a dream. I’ve come from three surgeries last year and was only able to get back to training four months ago. If I’m here today it’s only because I was able to count on the help of many people, such as my teammates Anderson Silva, Feijao, Big Foot and everyone else that trains with me
Meanwhile, a tense Anderson Silva gets emotional before his big fight with Yushin Okami:
I was tense backstage while I was watching his fight, I started feeling anxious and started crying like crazy. It was as if I was a child. Those who know my story know that Big Nog and Lil’ Nog are very important to me
