Under the Radar: Names that aren't on broadcasted shows this week.
Glover Teixeira vs. Antonio Mendes (Shooto Brazil 24: Nilson Nelson Gymnasium, Brasilia, Brazil, July 5)
Sean Loeffler vs. Kenny Kingsford (Xplode Fight Series: San Pasquale Indian Reservation, Valley Center, California, July 6))
Kazuki Tokudome vs. Kota Okazawa (Pancrase Impressive Tour 8: Differ Ariake, Tokyo, Japan, August 7)
Best Viewing Options: Someone whose neck is sore from shaking his head at Kelly Pavlik this weekend tries to entertain you.
1. UFC 133: Totes obvi, lolz.
2. Tachi Palace Fights 10: This would have been a perfect spot for the Kelly Pavlik/Darryl Cunningham fight, BUT NO, Pavlik had to fall further out of relevancy and raise my blood pressure. Alas, TPF is still the best place to watch top flyweights in the world, and TPF 10 is streaming live on Sherdog. Since there's no live fights on HDNet this week, this is a fine appetite-whetter until Saturday.
3. Dream Japan GP Final: Not live, which means no Bloody Elbow Night Crew (stands solemnly with single tear, like Denzel in "Glory"), but still a chance to catch up. Better late than never to see Gegard Mousasi break more faces.
4. Inside MMA: Rashad Evans continues the talk show circuit. I finally got to hear him on Opie & Anthony and he was terrific, he even joined the famous Lil' Yimmy Norton tap-out club. Rashad was made for the talk show rounds and Inside MMA will be in his wheelhouse.
5. Best of Legend Fighting Championships 3+4: Hey now! This was a nice little surprise in my broadlist listing browsing. Had no clue whatsoever Fuel had rights to Legend Fighting. Legend FC is an up-and-coming Asian company that's put on some well-received shows. Not a lot of names, but the Asian MMA scene is the talk of the town right now, so if you get Fuel, check it out.
6. Friday Night Fights: Yeesh, after a string of awesome FNFs, this one is...yeah. ESPN has been hyping the battle of the Mayweather trainers to try to hype the main event up and that's not a good thing. HOWEVA! My fellow 360 gamers, the ESPN App for XBLA is outstanding. Absolutely terrific. I CAN'T STOP USING ADJECTIVES! Streamed last week's FNF live in HD, highly HIGHLY recommend.
7. MMAthletics: Rich Franklin, probably showcasing his underrated MMA bromance with Jorge Gurgel. It's an under-the-radar MMA bromance, but probably still Top-10 P4P.
8. Legacy Fighting Championship 7: A replay of a surprisingly entertaining card. Rarely to the HDNet second-tier promotions have a bad or boring card. Definitely worth a look at the replay.
9. UFC 133 Countdown: I think Spike usually edges HDNet (which is my #10) in ther respective countdown shows. Spike's are usually more emotional and theatrical, while HDNet's are usually more information-centric and technical. In theory, I'd always take the latter, but when it's coming up on fight night and we've all been analyzing the card top-to-bottom for months, sometimes it's nice to kick back, turn off your brain, and just get hyped. Like watching a movie trailer instead of the interviews and technical specs and behind-the-scenes promotion for a movie. I like to get my emotional side fired up every now and then.
10. Countdown to UFC 133: See above.
BV Loses You Money: Five lines that I'd take this week before inevitably tearing my last prop ticket and shaking my fist at the storming heavens.
Last Weekend's Hangover:
If you put down $100 on each of my predictions last week, you'd have today:
$756
BV WON You: $256! DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?!
On the Year: +$205
This Weekend:
Nam Phan +175 Mike Brown
Matt Hamill +165 Alexander Gustafsson
Johny Hendricks -115 Mike Pierce
Rashad Evans -450 Tito Ortiz
Mike Pyle +215 Rory MacDonald

Your YouTube Finale: A man who has watched so many Sidney Crosby videos on YouTube that the Consol Energy Center will not sell him tickets near one hundred yards of the glass attempts to visually enlighten you.
