The Fox Debut-Thank Me Later Dana
The first fight I thought that would make sense for the UFC's debut on fox was Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard. However, because I'm a noob, I had forgotten what card they were fighting. I looked it up, and lo and behold, there are two, count em...two title fights on the same card. The second one being the recognizable Ken Flo vs. The always exciting Jose Aldo.
I think we may have a winner for our first main event on FOX gentlemen.
I'm sure this topic has already been posted a hundred times, but I haven't seen this idea yet. Just some food for thought.

Doubt that would happen
My guess…
Big Heavyweight fight (ex: Mir vs Reem)
Ben Henderson vs Clay Guida (winner gets title shot)

It’s an interesting suggestion because Sonnen/ Stann (also on the card) could serve as a quality co main AND there are 2 awesome undercard fights that could go on the main card. On the other hand why not just do Sonnen/ Stan on hte Fox card since it would be a lot more TV friendly. No offense to the aforementioned LWs but Sonnen and Stann are far more compelling figures.

Aldo vs. KenFlo is already booked for UFC 136
Also I don’t recommend it get switched. Bendo vs. Guida is already a logical semi-main-event for the Fox card and they need bigger names than Kenny Florian and Jose Aldo for the main-event, nothing against those guys.
They need either a big HW fight, a big LHW fight, or something along the lines of Anderson Silva vs. Sonnen or Hendo, although that last one apparently has been confirmed as not currently on the table. Waiting until after UFC Rio is probably best since there may be new fighters available at that time.
Bendo and Guida
Have little name recognition in the non hardcore ufc fan base. Also, Guida has been altering his fighting style to a more top control strategy so I am not even convinced the fight will be that exciting. Just my 2c. There HAS to be a good HW fight. I think Kongo vs. Reem would be amazing to watch. Both guys are sluggers, both guys are huge and ripped and it should be an exciting win for Reem to build on. Then maybe Hendo vs. Bisping again, rofl.
If heavyweight isn't the toughest division in the UFC, then why doesn't someone that can kick their asses move to it? They don’t even have to cut weight!!
Guida is a perrenial fan favorite
He gets chance of Guida Guida Guida wherever he fights. This myth that Guida is only known to hardcores and isn’t like because of his style is just that, a myth.

I am a hardcore fan so I can’t really say for sure what casual fans know. The only source I have are a few friends that sort of follow the UFC. They have no idea who he is. They pretty much know Tito, Liddell, Couture, BJ Penn, Hughes, Brock, Mir, GSP, Kimbo, Royce Gracie, Shamrock, Belfort, Fedor, Wandy. Guys like that.

Overeem isn't signed, and Kongo currently has a fight scheduled for UFC 137
In fact there probably aren’t any viable main-event fights in the HW division. Also Cheick Kongo would be an odd choice to be Overeem’s first UFC fight with Frank Mir available. Anyway the main-event is going to have to involve HWs or LHWs moved from other cards at this point, unless Anderson Silva, Forrest Griffin, Shogun, or Nogueira get a win at UFC Rio and are able to make a quick turnaround (actually I think this is what the company is really hoping for).
And I don’t think many people are suggesting Guida vs. Bendo for the main-event, but it would make a lot of sense as a title eliminator for the semi-main-event. If a fight has direct title implications it’s automatically important, and both fighters have a history of putting on really exciting fights, even if that’s never a guarantee. Plus Guida is still well-known, it’s not like people don’t know who he is.
I think Kongo/Reem would be a good gatekeeper fight for Reem. Also they both look like they were chiseled from granite so visually it would be pretty impressive for the casual fans. As a side benefit, the fight should be quite exciting. They may just have Reem vs. the HW champ. They may not want to risk soiling Reem’s resume as K1 and Dream (hehe) champ.
Perhaps Leben would be a good choice, he is usually exciting. I think exciting fights will be key though. 15 minutes of top control wrestling is awesome for we hardcore fans but casual fans will be thinking WTF?
I guess it depends on what the goal is. If they want to expand their fan base, they need to ease people into the sport with something exciting to the uneducated fan (like the Griffin/Bonnar fight did).

White has said he’s waiting until the results of UFC: Rio before finalyzing the UFC on Fox main fight… that leads me to believe he wants to put Overeem vs Schaub, if he wins. Unless he wants to do Forrest vs Machida, which would be a pretty good main event, but that can only happen if Forrest wins and comes out of that fight without any major injuries… that Fox show is in about 3 months, that’s a relatively short turn around for anyone fighting in Rio tomorrow…
Oh, that would be hilarious. Schaub would get absolutely destroyed. A horrible match up for him. Then again, you never know in MMA. No doubt Reem will be signed to the UFC though IMO.

PLEASE be true
Schaub goes from has-beens to Ubereem.
JOE, OUR TWO FIGHTERS ARE KNOWN FOR SLUGGING, SHOWCASING HUGE POWER IN ALL OF THEIR….IT’S ALLLLLLLL OVEREEM!!! ALISTAIR OVEREEM. MAN.
Let the fighters fight, let the referees ref, but dear God, don't let the judges judge.
The whole reason the Kenflo/Aldo fight makes sense to me is that the card its on has a lot of depth, so yanking it will not hurt the over all value of the PPV.
Secondly, they can market it as a title fight (which realistically should help).
Also, Aldo is one exciting mofo and Kenny can be marketed as the TUF 1 vet. Not to mention he has a good bit of visibility from being on MMA live pretty regularly. I can’t really see any viable excuse for the mid to hardcore fans not tuning in for this fight.
BTW
I’ll give a hundred Internets to the first troll that says a Fitch fight should be the main event
FITCH VS. SHIELDS
Book it, bitch.
Let the fighters fight, let the referees ref, but dear God, don't let the judges judge.
