Cyrille Diabate vs. Anthony Perosh Set for UFC 138 in England

Photo

The UFC's return to the U.K. in November for UFC 138 looks nearly complete with the addition of a light heavyweight bout between Cyrille Diabate and Anthony Perosh today. Diabate reported the match-up on his Twitter account:

training for my upcoming UFC fight @ UFC 138. Anthony Perosh vs Cyrille Diabate. Grappler vs Striker. Classic !!!

Although neither of these guys are spring chickens, with Perosh being 39 years old, and Diabate, 38, they're both coming off of wins and are out to prove they can still compete. Diabate should have the home-field advantage as he's a French native who's fought in England several times earlier in his career, while the Aussie, Perosh's latest victory was against a Brit.

Cyrille "The Snake" Diabate (17-7-1)
Win Steve Cantwell (unam. decision) - UFC on Versus 3
Loss Alexander Gustafsson (submission - rear naked choke) - UFC 120
Win Luiz Cane (TKO - punches) - UFC 114
Anthony "The Hippo" Perosh (11-6)
Win Tom Blackledge (submission - rear naked choke) - UFC 120
Loss Mirko Filipovic (TKO - doctor stoppage) - UFC 110
Win Kym Robinson (TKO - punches) - RIZE 3

Yeah, that headline really dampened my Brazil buzz. Gonna take me another BurgerKing commercial to recover.

Why?

They’ve removed the King from all of their advertising…

But they replaced him with Anderson.

Diabate rules. He's going to wreck this guy.

What everyone needs to do is calm down, take a deep breath, and prepare their bodies for the Thunderdome.

Perosh looked impressive against Blackledge

Unfortunately, it was against Blackledge. Diabate TKO 2nd round.

The only fighters on the main card who fought on the main card of a previous show

Are Leben, Munoz, and Alves (who was scheduled for the prelims on Spike).

Njokuani, Taylor, Krauss, Hathaway, Pickett, and Barao were all on the prelims most recently and Barao has never been on TV in the WEC or UFC and now he’s the co-main event.

But don’t worry, this card rocks because there are fan-friendly matchups and we get to see British MMA talent, which is similar to watching the best baseball prospects Cameroon has to offer.

I went whale watching the other day. I think. There were a lot of people in that lake.

Are they still banning people for "slow news day" comments?

No reason for asking…. really, I’ve been wondering about it lately…. has nothing to do with this fascinating bit of news…. been dying to know when Diabetes vs. Perogi was going to be on a card… why, if I had time I’d rec this story for sure… gotta run…

BE reports all announced fights.

Why would this be any different? Because you think that the matchup is bad?

I got The Snake in this one.

Pretty sure he is going to stomp Perosh convincingly.

The Hippo for causing The Snake to rupture

while stupidly trying to swallow The Hippo whole

Perosh doesn’t fare well against people that can punch him in the face. Diabate more than fills that criteria.
