UFC PPV Subscription
Just a quick question. Would you purchase a UFC ppv year subscription?
If they have 1 ppv a month at appr $45, that would be about $540a year. Say they discounted a subscription at $400. I think this is an idea they should explore. What do you think?
What would be an acceptable price to you?
Should it include Strikefor shows?
Do you think this will ever happen?
I'd like to hear your input and ideas.

Yes.
A lot of us have asked for this for a while. $400 seems like a fair price. They could make it a bit more for vault access as well.

No question.
Remember all those folks that said WEC lightweights simply wouldn't be able to hang in the UFC? Yeah.......

Would love it!
I think there actually tends to be something like 15-16 PPVs per year, so price would be over $400 I’d l think but I wish they’d do it. Probably some issues doing it because of agreements with PPV companies, but I’d certainly be down.
What if it was like a PPV version of UFC Fight Club?
Fight Club now is based around tickets for live events. You could get similar benefits but it would be based around seeing PPVs.

I'd be interested in knowing..
How many UFC PPVs does the typical purchaser actually purchase in a year?

I was hit and miss for years where I just purchased them here and there based on the fights. Now though I think it has been around 3 years since the last PPV I didn’t purchase. My wife even got hooked so now this Saturday I’ll be watching it in a bar where we are doing our fantasy football draft, but my wife wants to watch so my streak of PPV purchases will remain :-)
10 at least.

Absolutely...
if they get rid of Arianny, lol.
Maybe they could do different tiers? I have Showtime, so not a huge deal, but I would like to drop it. If you could get UFC and SF for $405 I would be in…
But
I don’t think this will happen anytime soon. They are still making to much money. But a great idea!
yes
and sign a 2 year contract.
The new US "debt deal" cut $2.4 trillion in deficit spending over 10 years. So instead of a $1.5 TRILLION deficit in 2012, we will only have to borrow $1.26 TRILLION to run our country into the ground. O_o
This would be good for the people who buy every ppv, but i don’t really see it happening.
Paying for the whole year up front without knowing how many and when the cards are would probably prevent lots of people from doing it. Also, if you have a group and take turns hosting this wouldn’t help you. UFC would also run into trouble when a less than stellar card comes up. Now they can say, “just don’t buy it” but if you have already prepaid for the year and they hit an injury streak like they did last year there are going to be unhappy paying customers, which are much worse than unhappy non-paying customers.
Hm. Interesting idea, but the UFC has a lot of very smart people working for it. I’d imagine something like this would’ve been done already if it made financial sense.
Just spitballing here, but I would guess that the reason this hasn’t been done is because the hardcore fans who order every pay-per-view are going to order no matter what. That means they’ll pay the $55 per show anyway, so why give them a discount? On top of that, I’d also guess that the fact that the large majority of fans watch fights as a group is a factor in this decision. It’s really only the hardcore online fans who complain about the price tag of the pay-per-views. For the rest of us, it’s not that big of a deal because when you get 5 or 6 or more people in a living room splitting the cost, it’s not as bothersome as paying it out yourself.
Seasonticket (live)
While I think that would be an interesting concept, I for one wonder how many that would be willing to buy season tickets for live shows? I mean, if UFC had a “home” venue in one of the larger metropolitan areas and held shows there once a month, shouldn`t they be able to sell a couple of thousand season-tickets? I mean, here in Sweden, a measly second division football-team can sell 6000 tickets pre-season (Forza Bajen!), why shouldn`t UFC be able to do the same?

Yes..
..although, a great deal of PPVs are spent watching at bars or other homes. Personally, I think it’s a great idea, especially if Strikeforce cards are included because they pretty much don’t exists in Canada.
"i hate signatures...that, and hypocrisy"
Absolutely. I’ve said forever that I’d buy every single UFC PPV if they were closer to $30. If it was $350-$400 for the year, I’d buy it.
