Well, anybody who knows me knows I'm no fan of dictionaries or reference books. They're elitist. Constantly telling us what is or isn't true. Or what did or didn't happen.
Ultimately it's Shamrock that should get the credit.
Ken became a big name in the WWE, came back and made Tito look like a million bucks, turning him into a draw. Tito gets brutalized by Chuck and turns him into a draw.

It's not a lineal thing.
It doesn’t necessarily pass down, it just happened to in these cases IMO. Ortiz’s trash talking made him a star, Chuck’s look and style made him a star.

Tito was already a pretty big star though.
Pre-Shamrock he drew 75000 for a fight with Matyushenko, drew 150000 with Shamrock, and 94000 with Couture after. Liddell drew 49000 with Couture and then 104000 with Ortiz before TUF happened and buys went through the roof.
