Non-sense!
Chris Lytle: 10-10 record
Jon Fitch: Only one UFC loss
Who would you rather spend your last $60 watching on a UFC PPV fight?
If it’s Chris Lytle, I know I’m in for an entertaining scrap
If it’s Jon Fitch headlining, I’ll go buy some Lunesta for $10, get the same effect as a Fitch fight, and still have $50 in my pocket.
It's not that straightforward
Entertaining scraps are a dime a dozen. I can watch free fights from Bellator, Strikeforce (sort of free), and the UFC’s stuff on Spike/Versus. Local MMA fights are cheap.
Fitch is the consensus #2. He is elite talent with a skill that only GSP has been able to overcome. A win by him (or his opponent) is extremely relevant in the WW division, whereas a Lytle fight really doesn’t mean much either way.
It’s like how Klitschko-Haye was worth $50M even though we all knew it wouldn’t be an exciting fight.

on the wiiiiings of Lunesta! is the only way i’d watch Jon Fitch fight again. GSP is quickly approaching that title tho’. seriously.
25 min’s laying on Dan Hardy. Jabbing Koscheck’s eye for 5 rounds. Jab, jab, right cross against Jake Shields for 25 min’s…he needs to listen less to Danaher (not a fighter) about “perfect victory” or whatever he calls it, and do more f’ing fighting and trying to punish guys like GSP did when he fought Fitch and Alves. Those were good, brutal fights.
Gatti. Dekkers. Pele. Aoki. Kang. Vanderlei. Basillio. Harry Greb.

intresting read
but completely disagree with the ending.
“Athletes try to win – first and foremost. As much as I loved his fights, Chris Lytle didn’t represent that sporting tradition.”
The other sports sighted, prior to that sentence only have 1 way to win and do NOT have subjective scoring methods. John Fitch can probably out score any WW in existence and win but only a few want to watch his fighting method.
i disagree with that comment as well lytle looked to win using the style he liked
looking at the hardy fight when he caught that kick. he pushed it off like hardy come on i’m trying to fight not beat you in under a minute. he could have sucked in the leg and went to work. he gets those awards because he puts it’s all on the line for victory.
As Lorenzo and Dana continue to build their Empire,
they have to cater to the customer. The customer says “Just Bleed”. Dana is getting that message to the fighters. Chris Lytle got the message a while back realizing he had mouths to feed which in many cases is more important than just win and sporting tradition. I like to watch Mixed Martial Arts. Two guys swinging wildly at each others heads barfight style is lame.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than to have a frontal lobotomy
