In what was obviously a bad decision on his part, Dan Hardy decided to take Chris Lytle down late in the third round of their UFC on Versus 5 bout, and it led to him being choked out. After starting out with two rounds of pure 'stand-and-bang' that went back and forth, it still ended up with a submission loss for the Brit. It was his fourth straight defeat, and what most people assumed to be his last UFC bout.
But, they were all wrong. Shortly after the bout ended, Lorenzo Fertitta went to twitter and said Hardy is going to remain with the promotion:
Will not cut @danhardymma I like guys that WAR!!!
To his credit, it was indeed a very entertaining bout, with both guys receiving a well deserved $65,000 Fight of the Night bonus.
