As we approach UFC 135, talk is growing louder about the match(or mismatch as some would say) between Quinton Jackson and LHW champion Jon Jones. To some its an intriguing test for both fighters. For others, its the proverbial young lion laying claim to his throne by felling the guard. And rightfully so. There are many questioning surrounding an aging "Rampage". Can he handle Jones' overwhelming physical tools and unorthodox skill set? Does he still posses the same coma-inducing power that made him an icon in the sport? Is he training hard enough, with the right people? Does he even want to fight anymore?
According to Gareth A. Davies of the Daily Telegraph, on ESPN's MMA Live, Quinton Jackson is so determined to win 'his title' back he has invested 1,000,000 in the training camp for this fight. This includes things like an underwater tread mill, bone density scanners, a giant cinema(to watch film) and a hyperbaric chamber. Jackson is vowing to be far from a one dimensional fighter.
My question is, what exactly does a million dollar MMA camp get you and will that be enough for him to beat Jon Jones?
