Strikeforce Challengers 18 is set to go down this Friday, August 12th at the Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas, NV. This event comes three weeks after the last Challengers card, and another one is scheduled for September 23rd. At least they're staying active. This card will be main evented by none other than former UFC fighter Jorge Gurgel, as he takes on Joe Duarte in a lightweight battle. In the co-main, Danillo Villefort will finally get to make his Strikeforce debut when he faces AKA's Nate James. Villefort was scheduled to debut at Strikeforce Challengers 16 (alongside his brother Yuri), but was forced off the card due to an injury.
